Hello,
We have seen our industry face its most difficult time in decades, and it has become clear that there is a need for members of our industry to come together and share our experiences and voice.
We recognise an opportunity to create a larger industry-wide network of professionals from which we can all benefit from the exchange of ideas, advice and information. Therefore, we are proud to announce the creation of The Association of British Wedding Businesses, which we invite you to join.
Visit the website of the Association for British Wedding Businesses (ABWB):
The Association of British Wedding Businesses is an industry body that supports all members of the British wedding industry. Our mission is to support our industry with insights and advice, advocate for growth, and serve as liaison between the industry and government.
Currently, the association is focusing on three main topics amidst the COVID-19 pandemic:
Pressure on wedding insurers to honour their commitments (see the Open Letter and do sign if you haven't already. This is now with Government officials. Stay tuned for updates on progress.)
Working with the government to prioritise weddings when lockdown is loosened. This includes persuading officials to consider weddings as separate from social gatherings.
Direct contact with CMA in regards to the recent guidance on refunds and seeking clarity for the industry.
We invite you to join the association as a founding member, for free. Founding memberships are open to all industry members, and we encourage everyone to join. Join now for free. As we are currently in the early stages of the development of this association, the structure of future membership is still under exploration and may evolve as we establish governance of the association. We are still finalising our board of founding members which will be announced soon, and we will be establishing several committees and expert advisors to ensure we are fully representing the interests of all members of the wedding industry with strong leadership.
Finally, I also ask that you please spread the word and invite your colleagues within the industry to join the association as well. As one unified organisation, we are stronger and can benefit from each other's experience and expertise.
